Internet Suicide Pact

Taking out their own life or suicide has been vastly growing all over the world. There’s a lot of way how to end your life, but in Japan, there’s a trend that’s been circling around, especially on teenagers. It is what they call “Internet Suicide”.

Internet suicide pact or cybersuicide pact is a suicide pact made between individuals who meet on the Internet via email, forums, chat, and mostly on websites. These teenagers meet on one of these rooms in the Internet and that is where it all started. They got acquainted through websites and agreed to make a pact to end their lives at the same time, with the same kind of death and now, meeting up and ending their lives together.

Internet suicide pact started in Japan in October 2000 by two net couple. They met on a chat room on a suicide website. The Japanese man was a 46-year-old dentist, who apparently, had health problems and family trouble. He was separated from his wife, while the 25-year-old woman had resigned from her job and was also worried about family trouble. After meeting on the website, the pair had been exchanging numerous e-mails, in which they both asked for the support of each other in committing suicide. Autopsy reports said that they died after swallowing lethal quantities of sleeping pills. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/)
